Menu Location: File - Hide Window
Video Monitoring Software can run in a hidden off the main computer screen mode. Either minimized to a small icon on the taskbar or completely hidden without even an icon on the taskbar. During this time video motion detection and capture still work. Additionally, if Enable Password After Hide, is set on the Password Menu, then entering a correct password is required to make the program visible again. A hotkey is provided to make the program visible again after it has been completely hidden.
Requirement: the Windows TaskBar at the bottom of the computer screen needs to be visible and always on top for Video Monitoring Software to continue to detect motion and capture video when hidden. Right mouse click on the TaskBar, under properties Enable Always on Top, and disable Auto Hide.
The following describes the Hide Window menu item.
Choose HotKey
The hotkey is necessary to restore Video Monitoring Software program into the visible state after it has been hidden. Default hotkey after installation is Windows Key + S pressed at the same time. You can choose to use another hotkey value if S is not appropriate for your system. After saving configuration exit and restart the program.
Start Program Minimized as Icon
If checked causes Video Monitoring Software program to startup minimized as an icon on the taskbar. If password is set, then a password will be necessary to make it visible.
Hide Window Now
This menu item when selected will hide the Video Monitoring Software program. No icon will be present. In order to restore the program to the visible state use the hotkey Windows Key + S (assuming you did not change the default). If have forgotten the hotkey, you will need to reboot the computer. If you have forgotten the password if set, you will need to re-install the program.
TaskBar Icon
Right or left mouse clicking the Video Monitoring Software program icon on the TaskBar will either minimize or make make the program visible. If the password has been enabled, one may be required to enter a password to make the program visible again.
Note:
Video Monitoring Software will detect motion and capture video when hidden or minimized to an icon on the taskbar. But may not detect motion or capture video when fully displayed on the computer screen and completely covered by some other program window. If you want to use all of your computer screen when Video Monitoring Software is running, hide or minimize Video Monitoring Software to an icon on the taskbar so it will continue to run in the background.
