General Information About Cards and Drivers

• The following are Video Capture Drivers. They are VFW and WDM drivers. There is a Universal WDM VFW Compatible Driver which works with many different Video capture cards, and other good drivers for specific video capture devices. 
• When downloading these drivers be sure to download a copy of Surveillance WebCam Software - since it works great  with these drivers. Description  Editions  Downloads
• For good operation it is best if you have one video capture device installed on your machine. This avoids drivers from different venders overwriting each other's files.  It is possible to use multiple cards and drivers, but chances of hardware and driver conflicts are higher.
• If using WDM drivers with Surveillance WebCam Software, have no more than one WDM driver loaded on your machine at any given time. Since WDM drivers will appear and be named as "Microsoft WDM Image Capture" under menu item Settings, Video, Select Video Driver. No matter what the driver name is.

Drivers for a 4 Port Video Capture Card from FG Engineering

(1) Best driver to use for Windows 7,2008,Vista,2003,XP,2000,Me,98 is the HWDM driver.

(2) Alternative VFW drivers can also be used.

• for Windows 2003,XP,2000,NT use VFW driver 3.11
  (if driver hangs on XP replace with HWDM above)
• for Windows Me,98,95 use VFW driver 2.4

(3) Alternative Universal WDM driver can also be used.

• for Windows 7,2008,Vista use UWDM driver 5.3.8 and use our software package swxe9.exe.
• for Windows 2003,XP,2000,NT,Me,98 use UWDM driver 5.3.2
  and use our software package swxe4.exe.

all work great with our Surveillance WebCam Software.

Drivers for Hauppauge WinTV Go PCI card 

• Best driver to use is the Hauppauge WDM driver for Windows 7,2008,Vista,2003,XP,2000,Me,98

Alternative VFW drivers are the following:

• For Windows 2003, XP,2000 or NT - download WinTV Driver Version 3.11
• For Windows Me,98 or 95 - download WinTV Driver Version 2.4

• All Windows drivers for this card are VFW compatible.

ATI TV Wonder PCI Video Capture Card

• use drivers supplied by ATI
• if problems replace ATI driver with the Universal WDM Video Capture Driver
• with Universal Driver can be used on  Windows 7,2008,Vista,2003,XP,2000,NT,ME,98.
• is a good low cost board
• WDM type driver
• can be used with video multiplexer from FG Engineering for multi-camera operation

X10 PC Video/USB Adapter Kit (Model VA11A)

• Download X10 driver is version 2.55
• good USB solution, can connect RCA connectorized cameras to it
• is WDM driver for Windows 7,2008,Vista,2003, XP, 2000, Me, 98
• can only use RGB 24 bit format with Surveillance WebCam software
• Note: make sure all cameras are plugged in before starting Surveillance WebCam program, and do not switch to video inputs that do not have cameras else driver stalls.
• can be used with video multiplexer from FG Engineering for multi-camera operation

Additional Video Capture Cards
Universal WDM Video Capture Driver

Use the preferred video capture devices and drivers above. If that is not possible try the following Universal WDM Driver as an alternative which works with most all Conexant BT848 BT849 BT878 BT879 PCI video capture cards. Surveillance WebCam Software should run on the following video capture cards provided that you install the Universal WDM Video Capture Driver on them,  These cards are all PCI cards (not USB) and use the Bt8x8 chipset. For Windows 7,2008,Vista,2003, XP, 2000, NT, ME, 98.  The Universal WDM Video Capture Driver, is a very good WDM driver, and is VFW compatible. Full Credit to Eduardo Jose Tagle.

• Note: in order for this driver to work correctly both the "Conexant's BtPCI WDM Video Capture" and "Conexant's BtPCI WDM Audio Capture" parts of the driver must be installed. This can  be verified under Control Panel, Device Manager, Sound, video and game controllers, to see if the both parts of the driver are listed as installed.
