Install Hardware
Before Installing Software and Drivers
Before configuring the software make sure:
-
your video capture hardware is installed in the computer eg
a 4 port video capture or usb camera are plugged in.
-
the drivers for the video capture hardware have already been
installed eg from your CD. Usually after installing drivers you need to
re-boot your computer
-
if using our 8 port video multiplexer that it is installed,
the power connector is installed, the multiplexer cable harness is plugged
in right, and the driver for the video multiplexer has been installed, and
the computer is re-booted after installing the driver.
-
your cameras are plugged into your video capture device, and
for sure that your cameras are powered up. If using coax cable that your
camera cables do not have shorts in them, so for sure your getting a video
signal through your cables.
You can use any video capture hardware you like. For best operation we
suggest a 4 port video capture card with a Conexant or BrookTree chip on it. To
use up to 8 or 11 cameras you will need our 8 port video multiplexer, which you
can plug into your video capture device.
One can obtain a 4 port video capture, or an 8 port video multiplexer from
our web site if you need one.
Check our web site for good or recommended video capture devices, and video
capture drivers.
Not every video capture device and driver will work with the software, but
many will.
