Software Configuration

A typical sequence for configuring the program is the following. Make sure your video capture hardware and drivers are already installed. Some features may or not be available depending on which version of the program you have.

Best way change settings of the program is to Stop the program, then change the settings. All ways do Save Configuration after changing any settings, so the settings will be saved.

Basic Configuration

One can do most of the basic configuration by clicking on menu item or button, Quick Config, in the Video Surveillance WebCam Software, and follow the steps displayed.

Or manually configure the Program by doing the following steps:

  1. Select Video Driver
  2. Video Source
  3. Global Settings
  4. Select Video Format
  5. Program Sets Compression
  6. Select Hardware Type
  7. Configure Cameras
  8. Switch Faster - Slower
  9. Software Registration

 

Advance Configuration

  1. Sound Alarm
  2. Email Alarms
  3. Video Streaming
  4. Passwords
  5. Remote Access
  6. Network Configuration
  7. Configure Computer

 

Additional Notes:

Select Video Format

  1. Settings, Video Audio Configuration, Video Format, select RGB24 , 160x120. click OK.
  2. Settings, Global Settings, put check mark beside, Program Sets Format, click OK. Then do Settings, Save Configuration.

Configure Cameras

Use the number pad in the Monitoring Control Window to enable and configure a camera - see Configure Cameras. Not all of the camera buttons may be enabled depending on the Hardware Type Selected, or the version of the program you have. For starters do not enable alarms just get the cameras working, do the following:

  1. Enable Camera - put check mark there.
  2. Sensitivity = 0.1
  3. Noise Filter = 100
  4. Min Frames = 10
  5. Max Frames = 20
  6. click OK
  7. do Save Configuration.

Repeat the sequence above for other cameras you have plugged in. Disable cameras which are not plugged in.

Global Settings

Click on Global Settings, and set the following.

  1. enable Startup Armed
  2. Startup Mode = Stopped
  3. enable show Main Video Window
  4. enable Show Detection Window
  5. Default Camera = 0
  6. enable Program Sets Compression
  7. enable Program Sets Format
  8. Frames Per File = 3000
  9. Number of Files = 50 (depends on your disk space)
  10. enable Use Time Stamp Font Size = 55
  11. Enable Show Errors in Message Box
  12. Language Settings = language of your computer.
  13. click OK
  14. do Save Configuration
