Use Web Server

Menu Location: Settings - Global Settings

The Video Surveillance WebCam Software has a its own built in web server to allow remote communications. It is a separate program that runs along side the Video Surveillance WebCam Software called the Web Server Program.

Place a check mark beside this item to open up and run the Web Server Program.

Remove the check beside this item to close the Web Server Program.

Do Save Configuration to make the Web Server Program automatically startup and run when ever the Video Surveillance WebCam Software runs.

If the Web Server Program is not running no remote communications with the program is possible.

When you start the Web Server Program and you get an error that the port is in use, then change the Web Server Program's Listening Port.

Change Web Server Listening Port

To change Web Server Program's Listening Port, from the Web Server Program's menu items do the following:

  • click on Server, Stop Server.
  • click on Server, Set server Configuration, change the Listening Port value eg to 90. Click OK.
  • click on Server, Start Server.
  • click on Server, Save Configuration.

Note: if you change the Web Server Program's Listening port from 80, to some other port number like 90, then you must explicitly enter in your web browser the port number when enter a command to the Web Server Program. For example now in your web browser you must enter:

http://IpAddress:90/logon.htm

http://MyComputerName:90/logon.htm

http://localhost:90/logon.htm
