Switch Faster - Slower

Location: Slider in the Monitoring Control Window

is a slider in the Monitoring Control Window. Controls how many video frames are dropped whenever the Video Surveillance WebCam Software switches from one camera to the other. This is the Switching Speed. A typical value is 6 to 8. The smaller the number the better.

Use it to eliminate switching noise from the Camera and Motion Detection Windows. If the value is too low, a Camera Window will have a split image in it of two cameras in one image - not good. Also the Motion Detection Window will flash white streaks as the it switches from one camera to another causing false motion detection and recording - not good. Fix this by increasing the value of this parameter.

For fine adjustments click on the slider with your mouse, and use the arrow keys of keyboard to move the slider.

Do not confuse this Switching Speed with Dwell Time.

Switch Speed here is how fast switches from one camera to the next camera which is proportional to how many frames are dropped when switching from one camera to the next.

Dwell Time is how many frames of video are displayed for each camera in the Camera or Sx Window after a switch camera has occurred. Dwell Time is applicable to Monitor Mode only.

The Dwell Time is controlled by the Min Frames and Max Frames parameters under Camera Configuration.

In Record Mode, there is no dwell time, just Switching Speed.
