Example Remote User Interface

The following example shows the Remote User Interface, logging onto the Program, getting the Admin Page with all the remote commands, then logging off  and closing the browser.

In the Video Surveillance WebCam Software click on menu item Settings, Remote User Interface. 

Result: should be the Web Server Program starts, the Web Browser opens up, and connects the Video Surveillance WebCam Software's Logon Page as seen below.

Click enter or enter your password then click enter.

Result: you see the Home Page as shown below.

Log Off

In the Home Page, click on link Admin Page.

Result: you should see the Admin Page as shown below. It has all the remote commands, some of which are found in the other web pages.

Log Off

From Admin Page above, click on link Log Off.

Result: you get a message that says,  Logged Off OK.

Now close the web browser.

That is the end of a simple remote communications session with the Video Surveillance WebCam Software.

Observe:

1. For there to be remote communications the Web Server Program must be running.
2. That in the web browser one enters http://ComputerIPAddress/logon.htm

Troubleshooting:

if this example or menu item Remote User Interface does not work try example manually with your web browser.

possible causes of error:

• the computer does not have an ip address
• anti-virus or firewall software blocking program or ports. See notes.
• some cable modems do not allow internal access to your own ip address
• web browser problem clear cached web pages, history, and try again or adjust its network settings.
• browser session timed out, close browser try again.
• Web Server problem port already in use.
